June 6 D-Day Events at NMUSAF

The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force will commemorate the 75th Anniversary of D-Day with one day full of events, as well as a temporary augmented reality (AR) exhibit (see NMUSAF website).

The event on Thursday, June 6 2019 will include a flyover, wreath laying, living history re-enactors, WWII-era vehicles, collection displays and D-Day films.


June 6 Schedule:

9:00 a.m. – 5 p.m.            Commemoration Activities

10:00 a.m.                         Wreath Laying Ceremony with WWII military vehicles                                           and C-47 flyover Location: Memorial Park

12:00 p.m.         “D-Day: Normandy 1944” movie ($) Location: Air Force Museum Theatre

12:15 p.m. – 5 p.m.            Re-enactors representing the                                             101st Airborne Division   Location: WWII Gallery

4:00 p.m.   “D-Day: Normandy 1944” movie ($) Location: Air Force Museum Theatre

6:30 p.m.   Living History Series movie ($)                                              sneak peek of "Sunken Roads:                                              Seventy Years after D-Day"                                             Guest speakers: WWII D-Day veterans  Location: Air Force Museum Theatre
