Storytelling

Dunbar Story Salon at the Dunbar Visitor Center (site #2 on the Aviation Trail) Beginning Saturday, April 27th 2:00pm - 3:30pm

The Paul Laurence Dunbar House Historic Site proudly announces a new venture - Saturday Storytelling Sessions.

Award-winning storyteller and NPS artist-in-residence, Omopé Carter Daboiku starts a new initiative on Saturday, April 27 from 2pm to 4pm. To be held every fourth Saturday, the Dunbar Story Salon is an open mic event with a twist -- tellers will be chosen by lottery. The first quarter hour will be a social mixer, so folks can meet each other and not just be audience members.

Those who wish to experience the galleries of Dunbar's personal effects and tour the historic home should arrive at least 1 hour in advance.

In the spirit of Paul Laurence Dunbar and Dayton's strong literary culture, come celebrate the joy of listening. Bring your piece of the mosaic and let's create an intentional community built on shared experience!

The Paul Laurence Dunbar House Historic Site is located at 219 N. Paul Laurence Dunbar Street, Dayton, Ohio.

Please enter through the visitor center entrance on 312 Edison Street (around the corner from the Dunbar House).

Tours of the home are free and available from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (last tour at 3:30 pm).
