From W. Third St., turn south on Williams St and then turn left on Fourth St. Go 1/2 block and turn left into the Visitor Center parking area.

Travel Note - Third St. Bridge closure:

The Third Street Bridge will be CLOSED beginning Jan. 1, 2020 until approximately Oct. 2021. Visitors can use the Fifth St. Bridge or the Salem Ave. Bridge as detours from downtown Dayton. A file with more detailed instructions for visitors traveling from the north or south via I-75, or from the east and west via US35 can be downloaded by

Flight Ground School

With weather breaking, it is the perfect time to learn to fly! If you don’t know where to begin, consider getting started at WACO Air Museum—practically in your own back yard. The dream of obtaining your pilot license is possible. WACO offers Flight Ground School, so if you just can’t get your head out of the clouds, come and begin your journey with us.

There is still room in this spring session. Must have a minimum of four class participants. Ground school will be taught in 11 class sessions on Tuesday nights at WACO Air Museum from 6:00- 8:00 pm. Please visit www.wacoairmuseum.org, under the Learning Center tab, for more information, including fees and materials. Call WACO at 937-335-9226 for any questions.

Instructor, Pete Demers, brings a wealth of experience in aviation education that spans the last 15 years. Pete has over 4000 flight hours as a flight instructor, has managed an FAA approved Part 141 Flight School as chief flight instructor, served as pilot and company flight instructor for a part 135 charter operator in the Piper Navajo/Chieftain, and was selected as the FAA’s Flight Instructor of the Year for the Southern Region in 2013. Pete is Manager of Ground Training at PSA and also serves as a volunteer at the WACO Air Museum.
