Ohio’s Largest Fourth of July Festival:
July 3 & 4, 2026: Centerville & Washington Township Americana Festival

The Centerville & Washington Township Americana Festival was held on July 3 & 4, 2026. Aviation Trail and the Aviation Trail Parachute Museum were on hand on Saturday, along with support by the National Park Service representing the Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park. The Aviation Trail booth was open on July 4 in booth 32 on North Main St. in Centerville. According to organizers, it’s Ohio’s largest 4th of July celebration attracting over 100,000 patrons. It seemed nearly all of them stopped by our ATI/NPS/Parachute Museum booth. The response to our team was truly amazing. (Special thanks to our booth volunteers Steve Brown, Josh Green and Dan Edwards, plus Nicholas Georgeff of NPS. Thanks also to Nick Tarkany, Jr., Randy Zuercher, and others for their organizing efforts). It was a great chance for Aviation Trail to present it's mission of promoting Dayton's aviation heritage and the Parachute Museum's story of the development of the free fall parachute from its invention at Dayton’s McCook Field after World War I, up to the vital role it plays in safely landing today’s spacecraft. See photos below (courtesy of Dan Edwards).

Thanks to the many who stopped by to see us.
