We've had a fantastic response to the official unveiling of Carillon Park's Mound Cold War Discovery Center this Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026 at 5 p.m. Please RSVP today to reserve your spot at this special event. Space is filling quickly.

Presented by River Valley Credit Union, and created by Dayton History in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy, Mound Development Corporation, and Mound Science and Energy Museum Association, the Center preserves artifacts, images, and stories from Mound Laboratory, the nation's first post-World War II Atomic Energy Commission site.

Honoring the thousands of Mound employees whose work helped change the world, the exhibit invites visitors to explore how Mound Laboratory shaped the Cold War, Nuclear Age, and Space Race — all just eight miles from Carillon Park.
